A tragic accident occurred in Lüdenscheid, North Rhine-Westphalia, when a 95-year-old woman lost control of her car while entering a parking lot.

Police reported the incident happened around 11:45 a.m. as the elderly driver turned from Martin-Niemöller Street toward the Kirchheim parking area.

Initial findings suggest she confused the accelerator with the brake, causing her to lose control.

The car first hit a parked Audi, then struck a 46-year-old mother and her six-year-old child. The child sustained life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle continued forward, crashing into two more parked cars before finally stopping against a fence and bushes.
