Merz: The Era of U.S. Dominance in Europe Has Ended

 

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that the era of American dominance in Europe, including Germany, has come to an end and no longer exists in the way it once did.

Speaking at the Christian Social Union (CSU) conference in Munich, Merz stressed that this shift requires Europeans, and Germans in particular, to reconsider how they handle their strategic interests.

He added that the United States is now strongly pursuing its own interests, which means Germany and Europe must also work to protect and defend theirs.
