Authorities in Hannover discovered a man dead in his apartment in the Davenstedt district, with evidence suggesting his body had remained there for nearly two years without anyone noticing.
Police said the case was uncovered in early October after neighbors reported an unusually full mailbox, which raised suspicions and led them to alert officials.
Investigations indicated the man likely died between 2023 and 2025. His body was found in an advanced state of decomposition. Police confirmed there were no signs of foul play, and the case has been handed over to the public prosecutor.
