Publication date: 2025-12-10

A shocking crime occurred in Berlin near the Humboldt Forum late at night, when a group of 15 Afghans attacked three Syrian youths. A 20-year-old Syrian was fatally stabbed in the heart.

The assault began with punches and kicks before the attackers pulled out knives. The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where doctors attempted to save him by opening the chest cavity and directly stimulating the heart, but their efforts failed. Two other Syrians, aged 22 and 23, sustained minor injuries.

Berlin’s public prosecutor announced that police arrested eight suspects aged between 16 and 22. The arrests were carried out by Berlin police special units (SEK) and dedicated pursuit teams. Seven suspects were presented to an investigating judge on Monday, while the eighth appeared before court on Tuesday morning.

This crime follows a similar incident weeks earlier at the same location, when an Afghan group attacked six Syrian youths on the Karl Liebknecht Bridge with knives, leaving a 24-year-old Syrian seriously injured.

Investigations into this series of violent assaults are ongoing, and police have urged anyone with information to contact the nearest station.
