Germany has been awarded the honor of hosting the UEFA Women’s European Championship in 2029, marking the third time the country will stage the tournament. The German Football Association won by a decisive majority of 15 votes in UEFA’s Executive Committee.

This will be the first major women’s football event in Germany since the 2011 World Cup. The country previously hosted the Women’s Euro in 1989 and 2001.

Matches are scheduled to take place in eight cities: Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hanover, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich, and Wolfsburg.

DFB President Bernd Neuendorf stated: “We are certain that the tournament in Germany will attract more than one million fans, and that UEFA will, for the first time, generate profits from a Women’s European Championship. We invite everyone to come to Germany. It is a tournament for everyone, not just for Germany.”
