In Haldenwang (Oberallgäu), Bavaria, the playground of a kindergarten was once again vandalized. Unknown perpetrators damaged the play structures and poured a sticky brown substance, believed to be used motor oil, over the equipment.
Wooden horses, swings, slides, and climbing frames were all affected, leaving the playground unusable. Deputy Mayor Matthias Aman described the scene as “shocking,” noting that children can no longer use the facility.
Police stated that cleaning the oil is extremely difficult. Only the slide was restored after major effort, while other equipment must be repaired or replaced. The damage is estimated at around €20,000.
This is the second such incident in a year, after a similar attack on another playground in the region. Authorities are now considering installing surveillance cameras.
