A suspicious letter containing white powder triggered a major police response in Siegen, North Rhine-Westphalia. A woman delivered the envelope, which had no sender, to the police station after it arrived at her mother’s home. Firefighters and a special police unit from Dortmund were deployed, and the station’s entrance was sealed off. Four people who came into contact with the powder—including the woman, her mother, her 11-year-old son, and another man—were decontaminated and taken to hospital for precautionary checks. Tests later confirmed the substance was harmless.
