A tragic accident occurred Thursday night on the B69 highway near Vechta (Lower Saxony). A 19-year-old Mercedes driver collided with a tractor-trailer carrying several tons of tiles. The car was forced under the trailer and caught fire, killing the young driver instantly. The 58-year-old tractor driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police reported no evidence of ice or slippery conditions. The cause of the accident is under investigation. The B69 remained closed overnight for cleanup and investigation.
