Ukrainian Suspect in Nord Stream Sabotage Extradited to Germany

Italy has extradited Ukrainian citizen Serhiy K. (49), suspected of coordinating the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea in 2022, to Germany after months of legal proceedings. He is set to appear before an investigating judge, while other possible suspects remain at large. Germany’s Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Karlsruhe confirmed the extradition on Thursday. The suspect was flown to Germany by helicopter accompanied by German officials. On Friday, he is expected to appear before an investigating judge at the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe, where a detention order is anticipated.
