Publication date: 2025-11-26

With drone sightings increasing in German airspace, interior ministers are preparing a comprehensive plan to address the growing threat at a key conference in Bremen on December 3. According to the German Press Agency, the talks will focus on providing the necessary technologies and capacities to counter illegal drone operations. Reports indicate that current capabilities vary among state police forces, the Federal Criminal Police Office, the Federal Police, and the German military. Thomas Strobl, Interior Minister of Baden-Württemberg, stressed the need for cooperation between federal and state authorities and for expanding capacities quickly. He emphasized that police and the military must work together without delay. “Anyone who hesitates here loses the ability to keep pace with rapid developments in drone technology,” Strobl warned.
