German Weather Service Warns of Deadly Ice in Munich – Driving Strongly Discouraged

The German Weather Service (DWD) issued an official warning on Sunday evening for Munich, predicting widespread ice formation due to freezing rain between 11 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday. Precipitation is expected to move in from the west, initially falling as snow with up to three centimeters of accumulation, before turning into rain that freezes instantly on cold surfaces, creating dangerous ice. Authorities strongly advise avoiding unnecessary travel or driving, warning of delays and disruptions in traffic.
