On November 13, 2025, German authorities carried out a major security operation targeting Islamist extremist propaganda on the internet. The Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt) coordinated more than 50 searches across 12 states. The suspects were mainly young people accused of sharing or promoting banned content on social media. The operation was conducted in cooperation with Austria and Switzerland as part of a European security initiative. Officials emphasized the importance of early intervention to prevent online radicalization and protect vulnerable groups from extremist influence.
