Aschersleben ist eine Stadt am Nordostrand des Harzes im Tal der Eine in Sachsen-Anhalt. Sie ist die drittgrößte Stadt des Salzlandkreises und die älteste urkundlich erwähnte Stadt in Sachsen-Anhalt. Aufgrund der geografischen Lage wird Aschersleben auch als das „Tor zum Harz“ bezeichnet.
