Staßfurt ist eine Stadt im Salzlandkreis in Sachsen-Anhalt. Staßfurt wurde am 31. Januar 1851 Geburtsort und Wiege des weltweiten Kalibergbaus. Dort war das einstige Königlich Preußische Salzbergwerk mit den beiden Schächten von der Heydt und von Manteuffel das erste Kalibergwerk der Erde.
